Floral Top – TJ Maxx
Gray Skinny Jeans – TJ Maxx
Striped Canvas Flats – Vintage, thrifted $5
Jewelry – Target, thrifted and self-made

Hello, vintage pink blazer meet my lovely friends. Friends, meet vintage pink blazer.
I thrifted this beauty a few months ago and it sat in my closet as I debated whether
or not to remove the shoulder pads. Very glad I did because now I’m proudly wearing
a whole lot of awesomeness. It makes me feel like a superhero on this overcast day.
For its introduction to the world, I kept the rest of my outfit neutral, to avoid looking
like a carnival on acid. Next up? Color-blocking. Maybe.
On another note, the Hubs and I re-watched Spiderman recently with our son. He’s on
a superhero craze, which includes Superman, He-Man and Mighty Mouse. Lucky for him,
I like them, too–the campier, the better.
And when I was taking these photos, C pretended to shoot webs at me from his hands
and begged me to climb the wall. I guess, he thinks I’m supermom. What baby wants,
baby gets. (Name that movie). Then he wanted to climb the wall, as well. Witness below
a series of photos documenting our attempts at defying gravity. We. are. the. coolest.

You guys are so cute. I LOVE that blazer! I need more bright blazers and that one is fantastic!
Thanks, Melissa! I am trying to build my blazer collection. They are great pieces to own for days when you don’t have the time or desire to come up with an outfit. I feel instantly put together when I wear a blazer!
It’s amazing what a pop of color will do for an outfit! ~sERENE
Awesome pink blazer! You could totally rock color blocking! I really enjoy seeing the pics of you and the little one…you two look like you’re always having so much fun. Is the quote from The Break-Up? (Google takes the credit either way.)
DIng, ding, ding! April for the win. The Break-Up is not a very good movie, but it’s a line that the Hubs and I quote a lot from the only scene in the movie that was funny. C and I had a lot of fun taking pictures for this post. He always wants in on the action when I take outfit pics!
Oh how cute! I love the photos of you two climbing up the wall. Your pink blazer is awesome! I love how you kept everything else neutral and let the jacket shine in all it’s wonderful glory
And I would love to see you do some color blocking with this!
Love your blazer! YAY for fabulous thrift store finds! Adorable pictures of you and your son, he is presh!!!!
CUTEEEE. As for the quote…ummm this is just a guess cuz I can’t remember for sure, but for some reason Dirty Dancing comes to mind?
Audrey @ Putting Me Together
I can definitely see why you would guess Dirty Dancing… with “Baby” in the quote. It’s actually from the Break-Up with Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston. SO obscure, I didn’t think anyone would actually know it. It’s only a “famous” quote in my household, as the Hubs and I quote a lot of movie lines on a daily basis. Actually, the movie isn’t even very good or memorable. Just this one line for us. HAH!
Those pictures are so adorable!!
Love the hot pink blazer!!! And I love how you kept everything else simple to let it shine.
I found a hot pink blazer in the thrift store last year and have yet to wear it. It’s made of a wool blend so a little too hot for right now, but it also has the shoulder pad action going on. I’ve been meaning to have it tailored and to have those linebacker shoulders taken in.
Thank you! I highly recommend taking the shoulder pads out. It made the blazer so much more wearable as I didn’t feel like a linebacker. I love both fitted and oversized/boxy blazers and this one didn’t call for tailoring. A wool one sounds awesome for fall/winter!
Adorable wall climbing, there. I need to try to climb some walls, I think. Haha. This was a great way to wear the blazer, but next time you have to brighten it up with something totally different and bold. It is rockin’ either way, though.
Hah, Sarah! Climbing walls is VERY easy when you have Photoshop skillz. I will be braver next time and wear it differently!
Van, my Sweet! You’re soooo cute! Fab outfit!! And your little guy is totally adorable! I can’t wait to watch movie with my LO. What fun! OXO Nat
Thanks, Natalie! 2 has been an awesome year. He’s getting more and more communicative and gaining so much understanding. It’s pretty incredible! I love rewatching all of my childhood animated favorites and other children’s genre with my son. We are going to brave a movie theater sometime soon. There is a local theater here that has Mommy Matinees and sounds like a great opportunity to take the little guy.
What a great find – it looks kind of like the blazers Zara was selling though I bet for a fraction of the price. Those last few pictures of you are your son are absolutely adorable… he is SO CUTE!
xo, alison*elle
Yes, that’s exactly what I thought when I saw this blazer! I love Zara stuff, but their prices are out of my budget.
I’ve been obsessed with hot pink blazers ever since Ginnifer Goodwin wore one in Marie Claire a couple months ago. What an AWESOME snag you have here!
I love Ginnifer Goodwin. She looks gorgeous with her short hair-do.
um, can you say…DIRTY DANCING??!! only my most favoritest movie of all time! i’ve been lusting over these hot pink blazers ever since zara came out with theirs. sadly, my sisters probably had these in evvry color…oh how i wish they’d kept them! great look, and i love the pictures!
[oomph.]
what a great pink blazer and super cute shots of you and your son!
Thanks, Kileen! My son loves to take pictures with me.
I hope you know I smile a LOT each day when I open my reader and see something new from you! I just know it’s going to be awesome and funny and make me feel as if I am right there chatting with you and getting to know you. You never disappoint, I love your posts! And your style … and those thrifted sneaks. Again, you have a SERIOUS talent for thrifting … and climbing walls … and mixing patterns and creating color palettes. Yes, I think you are a super hero! With the world’s cutest sidekick to boot
Stacy! I find an equal amount of joy to read your comments. I can’t say this enough. There is so much support from the blogging community, both readers and writers. When I hit the publish button on my first post, I had no clue what it meant to write a style blog. I’m incredibly humbled by the response and the encouragement from lovely ladies, such as yourself. I totally thought, I’d be keeping a personal outfit diary and that was that and if nobody read it, it would be okay. But having people visit and enjoy what I write is just tremendous and makes this adventure much more enjoyable.
gorgeous blazer!
love the color ♥
and cute shots with your son =)
Annie, thank you! My son and I have a great deal of fun together!
hahah,,,,spider mommy, we are not call our son spid-ie, because he like to get off the car with holding the seatbelt, and he called that as spider man, so funny, oh, and he likes to watch all the things your guys watched too. too bad, I am not that into those things…I guess I should
This pink blazer really a good found! I am loving it!
Hee-hee. I can envision your cutie pie son pretending to be spidey! He sounds like a ham, just like my son. I was a tom-boy for much of my childhood and very close with my brother (who is two years younger than me). Because we were close in age and his birthday is a day after mine, we did a lot of activities together so I guess, I have a special place in my heart for all those comic book, action hero stuff. Hah. Having a boy that is very active and into getting dirty and playing with cars and trucks kind of suits my personality. I love it!
I think your blazer is absolutely fabulous. And, those pictures of you and your kid are so adorable. It almost makes me want one of my own.
Ask the Duplex
Haha, Monica! That is too funny. I actually get that comment a lot. My son brings such great joy to my life and I’ve really enjoyed being a mom. It’s completely different than any other life experience and when you find yourself in the midst of it, there’s really nothing better (most of the time). Hah. There are certainly trying moments, but fleeting because as soon as my son knows he’s done something I don’t approve of, he turns it right around and makes me laugh. Like deep belly laughs.
This is an awesome thrift find! There’s a wayyy too expensive hot pink blazer at Zara that I have been eyeing but I think I should check my thrift store first.
Taimi! You should definitely try the thrift stores… much, much cheaper (especially for a “trendy” item that you may not want to wear forever). It took me a little while to find this blazer, but my persistence paid off!
cute pics and i heart the blazer!
