October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM). My blog friend Mel, over at a Working Mom’s Closet is encouraging folks to wear something pink everyday or days throughout the month of October as a way to support breast cancer awareness. I’ve signed up for the aWEARness challenge! I don’t own a lot of pink, but will wear what I have during the next month.

According to NBCAM, in America, breast cancer is the “second leading cause of death in women” and also affects a small percentage of men. But through early detection and treatment, there are approximately “2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States”. If you or anyone you know has been affected by this disease, join us and wear pink to help raise awareness of breast cancer in your community!
