‘Tis Friday!
I’m a touch bit tired today, as it was quite a productive week/month as I diligently roll out new plans for my design business, which include expanding my services to include both consulting and web design. I’ve acquired a new Client, a Fine Beer and Spirits Importer located in Texas. Starting out as a consultant to develop solutions for refreshing the brands in their portfolio to make them more marketable in the U.S. It’s a nice change of pace! I’m used to handling all aspects of design from start to finish and it feels very good to be hired as an expert; to constructively analyze other people’s work. Requires a different kind of energy, yet still challenging. What? You wanna pay me for my brain? Sign. me. up.

Gray Moto Jacket – Marshall’s
Black Denims – Paige, via Nordstrom Rack
Red Sweater – gift from Aunt
Gray Oxfords – F21
Leaf Buckle Belt – Thrifted $1
Jewelry – all Thrifted
Foot Stool – Ikea
Part of the plans for first quarter is to get up my official portfolio website, but Client work comes first. Meanwhile, I already have two Client websites in development! I haven’t ever talked much about my work here and it’s time I do since it’s a very big part of my life! So now you know more about why I disappeared end of last year! I was focused on strategies to make this year better for business.
Are you excited for the weekend? I sure am! It’s the first one, since the start of 2012, without any major commitments. Maybe I can finally tackle my office area and closet. We need to desperately purge. I also have a couple refashion projects: make a trench sleeveless and take in the legs of a couple of denim pants. What will you be doing? Whatever it is, make it good.

This looks great on you, and I love the necklace! Have a great weekend!
Your business development sounds exciting. All the best to your future endeavours. Great outfit by the way, always like how you meticulously co- ordinate the colors. i like the military like jacket over the red sweater. The effect is pretty stunning!

Love this combo. I have one of those weekends planned too. Nothing ‘big’ to do but lots of little DIY projects to work on. Hopefully I can finish off two or three and feel really accomplished by Monday.
Sounds like exciting stuff is happening on the job front! This weekend I’m going to the SoCal Blogger Meet-up–so excited. And then Jason Wu for Target after church on Sunday! haha…we’ll see if anything is even left by that time.
I love the tone on tone with sweater and necklace. I tried something similar here: http://natashafatah.blogspot.com/2011/12/season-appropriate-dressing-1-month.html
And I’m looking forward to see your DIY sleeveless trench! Hope you’ll give instructions!
Enjoy your weekend!

We kind of feel the same way with the new business. Any new challenge feels great and exciting.
Love love your necklace! Have a wonderful weekend
I’m glad you’ve got so much excitement going on in your professional life! I look forward to hearing about those adventures, too. (: Anywho, I dig that sweater a lot. Like… a lotlotlot. If it disappears… well, don’t blame me.
That’s so exciting about all your work progress! Hopefully a satisfying type of busy – but it does always makes a free weekend feel so much more glorious.
You look so pretty in this red, and I love the special touches of the necklace and belt – another of the simple but oh so chic outfits I love (and will totally copy now that I’ve got a pair of black denim too… I just love how they make things a little fancier than regular jeans).
How have you been making your collages lately? I need to buy/download that program. You blog has been looking absolutely amazing and so professional lately. You look stunning and I love your outfit. Love your unexpected colors. Love the orange and red together. AND I am jealous of your layering talent.
Stunning stunning stunning. So happy for your new business!
Sounds exciting, Van! Best wishes with all your new projects!

Yea for lots of work, it’s lots of stress, but a good kind of stress I guess huh? I really like that necklace with this sweater. Great colors for sure!
